Spiced Pecans

Looking for the perfect party food for New Years?  This is it!  One bite and the party will be in your mouth!

spiced pecansIngredients:
3 cups pecans
1 tsp cardamom
1 tsp himalayan salt (or sea salt)
3/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/2 – 3/4 cup dates, pitted

Procedure:

  1. Soak dates in 1/2 cup to 1 cup water for at least 30 minutes to soften them and make it easier to blend.
  2. Blend dates and the water dates were soaking in until smooth and creamy.
  3. Mix together all ingredients in a large bowl until all pecans are well coated.
  4. Bake in oven at 175 degrees F for ~4 hours, turning nuts over halfway through…or if you want to keep it truly raw, dehydrate at 104 degrees for ~6 hours.
