Managing Negative Self Talk

Is this video probably embarrassing? Yes. It’s my first interview and my first video recording and editing that I’ve done all by myself…let’s just hope it gets better from here on out.

Why I’m sharing this video is not about me. Gabe Hoffman introduces a useful and simple technique to help us all manage the bogeyman of negative self talk and transform it into a useful voice.

Über special thanks to Gabe who so graciously encompassed my silly interviewing style:

  1. Love the notebook topic and wanted to add a subject that I felt was not mentioned. In expressing the negative voice, we recognize that point of view and allow ourselves to deal with that issue… instead of ignoring it and never facing it. So the front of the notebook is our goals. The back of the notebook is our challenges. We balance the two and grow forward.

Thank you Brook for the great news letter. Thank you Gabe for the notebook approach.

    1. Beautifully said, Milos. By ignoring or suppressing the negative voice, we never confront it. And it will be a challenge! It does take working with both sides to “grow forward.” Thanks for your feedback!

  2. This reminds me somehow of interviews with gurus and holy men and women from the 70’s and 80’s. You may have seen public discussions between scientist David Boem and Jiddu Krishnamurti in the 80’s, for example. In those conversations there was abounding energy that for me, could validate the words they were speaking.

That abundant energy was present in your flick. I was mostly occupied being reminded that ecstatic connection personified is possible! Sometimes i think holistic health programs are strong in every way except spirituality’s fundamental elements.

    1. I’ll have to check out those 80’s gurus, as I haven’t heard of them. 🙂

Thank you for the beautiful comments. It means a lot.
