Weighed down by the thought of aging?  Looking for the Fountain of Youth? It may be time to stop searching for the Fountain of Youth and instead embrace The Fountain of Truth.  The Fountain of Truth tells us that diet and lifestyle are the main factors in determining the rate at which we age.  And — as you might guess! — eliminating or significantly reducing your sugar intake plays a big role in staying young, healthy, and vibrant as the years pass by.

High blood sugar levels and a process called glycation go hand in hand.  The sugar in your bloodstream attaches to proteins that form harmful new molecules called advanced glycation end products (AGEs for short). The more sugar you eat, the more AGEs you develop. The higher your blood glucose (caused by eating sugar and refined flours), the more AGEs will accumulate and the faster the decay of aging will proceed. This translates to wrinkles, loss of tissue elasticity and function, and grey hair…earlier than you may expect or want.

Prevention! Prevention! Prevention! Want the Fountain of Youth? Pour that soda and all its sugariness down the drain, and serve yourself a cool refreshing glass of water instead.
